Boobies Tattoo Studio
On the hunt for a solid piercing studio, the name ‘Boobies’ immediately sprung to mind. Last year I met a local girl who got her first tattoo at Boobies Tattoo Studio, just to piss off her mother even more than if she’d gotten her first tattoo at say, Dragon Tattoo. Turns out owner wasn’t aware of the English meaning. Doubtful, but that’s beyond the point.
I had been looking for a studio that would pierce my ear cartilage (I’m hardcore like that). Paying for putting holes in my body is not something I skimp on, but still, I didn’t want to pay over RMB500 – the price some other studios charge. At Boobies there’s that happy middle ground – solid service for an affordable price. Depending on the hardware and whether your prefer a needle or a gun piercing, body piercing costs between RMB350-550.
My experience at the Japanese studio couldn’t have been nicer. That’s Toru. Toru is a true professional, conducting everything in a super sanitary, safe and might I add sweet manner. The guy is just so nice. If your kinky and want to get your nipples or some other sensitive body part pierced, he’s your man. That’s me with my game face on. Let’s do this Toru.
As a wimp, I did not get a tattoo. But if any of you badasses out there are interested in an investing in some ink, tat prices run by size. Coin size is RMB500, cigg box is RMB1,200-2,000 and CD size is RMB2,000-3,2000. Boobies touts itself as ‘the most famous tattoo studio in all of Japan,’ and judging by the extraordinary examples framed on the walls and steady influx of repeat customers, I’d say this isn’t much of a stretch.
