Set up by Robert Bernell, Timezone8 is an art & design bookstore/café located in 798, Beijing. “The instore publishing schedule produces an impressive 22 titles and includes the work of luminaries such as Cai Guo-Qiang and Wang Guangyi. Recent collaborative projects with art publishing giants like Steidl, and a distribution network spanning London, New York, Amsterdam and Hong Kong, have assured Timezone8’s place among the most important publishers of Chinese [creative] books”.       I don’t know what it is about this intersection (Fuxing Road and Danshui Road), but I always see the craziest, coolest Chinese people around here. I just posted about “Balloon Bandits” running a red light at this crossing, and now here we have some more questionable bike behavior rounding the corner… I’m sure I’ve seen more people running red lights than adolescents standing on the back of their friend’s ride, so I’m not quite convinced that the local authorities condone this type of transportation but at the very least it looks fun (read: slightly dangerous but not as risky as running a red light in Shanghai).…
