The purveyors of cool, Opening Ceremony, finally launched their Year of China in 2016!! Founded in 2002, the US retailer started by importing products from Hong Kong and selling them in New York… They’ve waited ages to go back to their roots, and in 2016 Opening Ceremony did just that!! They selected a range of talented Chinese designers to sell through their doors in New York, LA, and Japan, as well as their online shop.

Labelhood is quickly becoming China’s most compelling platform for designers to showcase their work. Only in its second season, it has blossomed seemingly overnight, and boasted an impressive roster that included FFIXXED, Hiuman, Staffonly, Chen Peng, Pronounce, Xu Zhi, and Yirantian.

Set in the far-off reaches near Hongqiao Airport, Coda Showroom was a destination well-worth the trip. Not only did it feature amazing brands like The Lawn, Percy Lau, and Heng Shu, but they also created a more holistic vision of what fashion is and can be by curating an exhibition based on Dieter Ram’s 10 Principles of Good Design.

Fashion Now has been known for having the most tightly curated event in China, showing only 4 to 6 designers per season. This season there was also an exhibition with the likes of V Major, MICartsy, and Da Wei, while the coveted runway slows were filled by seasoned veterans Evening and Ricostru, with one newcomer Zhao Qianyan.

Fashion Now 在中国是出了名的有着最紧密策划的活动,每季仅展示 4 到 6 名设计师。本季也有一场像 V Major,MICartsy 和 Da Wei 一样的展览, 同时令人梦寐以求的走秀尽是老牌大腕 Evening 和 Ricostru, 当然也有新秀 Zhao Qianyan。

Guo Pei was invited by the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, joining official members Chanel, Dior, and Givenchy to show at Paris Couture Fashion Week in January. She is only the second Chinese designer to be invited after Yiqing Yin, who was invited in 2012.

Chris Chang and her brand Poesia have long been known for mesmerizing textures and vibrant colors, but in 2016 her collaboration with MAC served up some very pigmented realness. Oh ya, and she made history by becoming the first Chinese fashion designer to collaborate with the storied makeup brand.

CHINA FASHION BLOGGERS 庆祝五周年 CELEBRATES 5 YEARS

CFB had never hosted an offline event before, but for our 5th year online we wanted to do something special! So we collaborated with a laser artist to create a virtual wardrobe with almost 100 different tops, bottoms, dresses, and accessories that the guests could “wear” at an event entitled LAYERZ at Daliah in Shanghai.
